A new star in the show jumping sky
Outstanding in scope with an ideal technique, descending from a pedigree of worldwide recognition - that’s how to describe Balou Star in a few words. By reason of his movements and his extraordinary jumping ability, this young stallion was licensed by the Hesse association for special horse breeds and ponies in Alsfeld in March 2008, receiving the maximum possible score of 10,0 for jumping. Quote F. Solle, breeding manager of Hesse: “…and then we had a special highlight in the loose jumping. Caution, overview, skill, reflexes and technique. Balou Star demonstrates almost perfectly how we wish the sequence at the jump out of a fluent, handy gallop.” Balou Star could also assert himself against a strong field of 4-year-old stallions at the stallion performance test 2008 in Erbach, which he left as reserve champion of the riding ponies. At the end of last year, he proved his skills once again. In a field of 42 international top horses, he achieved twice the maximum possible score of 10,0 for jumping manner and ability at the 30-days-test in Schlieckau. Because of his tremendous gallop and his enormous transmission, Balou Star is suitable for the higher lever of show jumping.
Sire: Balou du Rouet was placed high at the finals of the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. Today he competes successfully in international show jumping competitions and has been able to present several licensed sons. His sire Baloubet du Rouet won under Rodrigo Pessoa countless show jumping competitions on the most prestigious show grounds of the world. In Balou Star’s pedigree we twice find the unforgettable Almé son Galoubet A , once on the sire’s and once on the dam’s side. The star sire
Almé by Ibrahim influenced significantly almost all European warmblood breed. Thus, the top sire Quidam de Revel descended from the Almé line as well. You find progeny of Almé at all international competitions and Olympic medal rankings. The dam line in 3rd generation traces back to Domino, who represents the successful Hanoverian "Schockemoehle" jumping blood. Dam: Quenada was sired by the legendary Quick Star. Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum described him as the most important horse of her career, because he helped her to international reputation. Quote: “He was a phenomenon with a tremendous impressive appearance. He had springs under his hooves.” Quick Star, sired by Galoubet A, traces back to the world sire Almé. Also Domino can be found in the dam line. The special feature in the pedigree of promising junior star Balou Star is therefore the solid anchoring of successful genes on the sire’s as well as the dam’s side.

In his first breeding season in 2008, Balou Star already produced a couple of highly awarded pony foals. The foals present themselves with a lot of chic, good movements and excellent interieur. Also the first
crop of warmblood foals has met high expectations. The breeders were delighted by noble foals of good size with elastic movements.
